SPACE programme for setting up rural information, technology and documentation centres has been extended to Wayanad through Community Agrobiodiversity Centre of M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF). The centre will spearhead activities to document and preserve the traditional knowledge and cultural heritage of the tribes of Wayanad and also explore other possibilities that ICT offers.
The programme was officially inaugurated by Mr Saleem Memana, President of Kalpetta Block Panchayat at Kalpatta on 22 December 2013. Arun M, Executive Director, SPACE, Mr. N. Anil Kumar, Director, Community Agrobiodiversity Centre, MSSRF also spoke during the function.
Senior students were given training in different ICT tools at the Agrobiodiversity Centre on 23- 24 December 2012.
