SPACE and Centre for Internet and Society (CIS), Bangalore will host a workshop for web developers on web accessibility from 25-26 September 2009 at Christ Nagar International School, Kowdiar, Thiruvananthapuram.
The workshop primarily aims to demonstrate the importance of creating accessible websites and train web developers in adding accessibility features to new and existing websites. It is also be a platform for capacity building of potential accessibility trainers.
Training will comprise both theory and practice sessions and will be guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. The trainers will be specialists in various aspects of web accessibility.
The workshop is open to web developers from government departments and small or medium enterprises across the country. The participants should be those already involved in developing websites with sound knowledge of HTML, XML, CSS etc.
The programme is supported by Kerala State IT Mission (KSITM) which runs Insight an ICT centre for the differently abled in association with SPACE.
