A half day session on HTML5 and Firefox OS App was held in the forenoon of September 28th for the 5th semester students of Central Polytechnic Trivandrum (CPT).
As with most Government colleges in the state, Mohan Sir, lecturer in Computer Science Department , had concerns about sessions being interrupted by any day strikes of unknown reasons. A bunch of students marched in the classroom with flags shouting slogans to boycott, which went in vain, as the class stayed back. We continued with the class on that positive gesture. Introducing new features of HTML5 and familiarizing a completely new mobile technology like Firefox OS was a great experience for them. Mobile and Web technology is a part of their syllabus in the coming semesters and getting a start to these booming technologies was helpful for them Abijeeth, a student of CPT said. As they requested, we are planning further hands on session in the above technogies. We saw them greatly excited about the possibilities of web and mobile technologies and so are we in introducing it to them.
